Speakers
Steve Eschbaugh is the president and CEO of Eschbaugh Advertising in Wilson that conducts business in approximately 20 states from coast to coast. Steve attended Fort Hays State College in the early '70s for a short time, then graduated from Salina Area Vocational School with a degree in Auto Mechanics. He worked as a mechanic for several years before joining Eschbaugh Advertising in 1987. He also has a small farming operation on site where the printing facility is located.
Gloria Freeland is the director of the Huck Boyd National Center for Community Media and an assistant professor in the A. Q. Miller School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Kansas State University. Before beginning her career at K-State in 1983, she worked on several Kansas newspapers and was a Peace Corps volunteer in Ecuador. She also worked as associate director of K State's Student Publications Inc. for 15 years. In addition to teaching classes in journalism and advertising, she coordinates the Miller School's internship program. She also writes a weekly column, "Snapshots," for the Riley Countian, for which she has won several statewide awards. Gloria received both her B.A. in journalism and her M.B.A. from K-State.
Skyler Lovelace leads the Digital Media program at Butler Community College. Since founding the program in 1996, she's developed over a dozen hi-tech college credit courses as well as the curriculum for Butler's DigiKids summer camps. As an affiliated artist with the Wichita-based nonprofit organization, Arts Partners, she presents teacher training workshops in digital media topics. This year she incorporated a new business, Pixel Time Learning Centers, which provides day camp and after-school enrichment opportunities for Wichita kids. Skyler has earned a doctorate in education, a master of fine arts, and a master in instructional technology.
